  • Portrait Plasma is a device that uses nitrogen plasma to treat aged and wrinkled skin. It provides patients with treatment options for:

    • Reducing fine, moderate, and deep wrinkles
    • Improving skin tone, texture and elasticity
    • Removing discoloration
    • Clinical studies show tightening
    • Treating benign skin lesions/actinic keratoses

Founded by Dr. Mark Goble in 2004, Rhytec has developed 5 different treatment protocols for Portrait Plasma, including the Portrait Express® treatment which offers patients a low-energy treatment option. Utilizing a lower-energy plasma technique, results are more gradual with no downtime and less risk. Patients are able to return to work immediately following the treatment.

    Plasma Regeneration Treatment Overview

Plasma Skin Regeneration is a newly developed skin rejuvenation technique to stimulate the natural regenerative processes of the skin. PSR delivers plasma energy deep into the dermis while leaving the skin's surface intact for several days following treatment. A newly formed epidermis emerges as the old layers begin to shed off. With less trauma to the surface layers than ablative procedures, healing is quicker as the body's own skin acts as a dressing over the wound, thus creating a wound-healing response without a wound.

Usually a patient will need a series of treatments at three to six week intervals with anywhere from four to eight treatments. The improvement can last from months to years. Improvement is really a function of how much damage our skin receives from the sun during that time. Treatment can create the improvement but we're still going out into the sun and exposing ourselves to the elements, we're still receiving damage.

    Portrait Side Effects

Side effects of Portrait are generally minimal and may include some redness and swelling following the treatment.

PSR can also be used in a non-ablative method at very low energies, and what's interesting about that treatment is that people feel a lot of inflammation and warmth, which is indicative of a strong healing response, but they feel very little during the actual treatment. Recovery time is also generally minimal.
