The plastic surgical procedures at the Plastic Surgery Institute of San Francisco range from cosmetic to reconstructive surgery for the body, breast, and face area for men and women. These specialized procedures are performed by Board Certified plastic surgeons in our office’s private surgical facility. We specialize in cosmetic surgery procedures such as a facelift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), fore head lift, endoscopic brow lift, chin and cheek implants, nose job (rhinoplasty), ear pinning (otoplasty), scar revision, breast augmentation, reconstruction, or reduction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction (lipo), arm lifts, and thigh lifts.
In addition to the surgical practice at the Plastic Surgery Institute of San Francisco that focuses on procedures such as facelifts, lipo, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and so forth, we also have a less-invasive practice dedicated to Botox, injectable fillers, facials, peels, and microdermabrasions. With a certified aesthetician on staff, patients are able to have relaxing and rejuvenating facials while using our in-house product Face Forward by Dr. John Owsley which leaves them feeling refreshed.

The Plastic Surgery Institute of San Francisco is composed of five Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who specialize in cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery. Our plastic surgeons, Dr. Darrell Brooks, Dr. Gregory Buncke, Dr. Rudolf Buntic, Dr. John Owsley, and Dr. Bauback Safa, have a combined total of over 75 years of experience in Cosmetic or Aesthetic, Reconstructive, and Microsurgery. Co-directed by Dr. Gregory Buncke and Dr. John Owsley, the Plastic Surgery Institute of San Francisco is partnered with The Buncke Clinic of San Francisco and San Mateo, an Institute established in 1970 and recognized worldwide for its specialty of Reconstructive and Microsurgery of the Hand. With extensive experience in microsurgery of the hand, reconstructive surgery, and facial and body plastic surgery, our plastic surgeons are experts in the field of aesthetic or cosmetic procedures. Our surgeons have diverse backgrounds that have collectively led them to revolutionize plastic surgery through the development of different techniques and approaches to surgical procedures that have been adapted worldwide.
Wrinkles are the last thing anyone wants on their face. Those lines across your forehead, the “elevens” between your eyes, or the crow’s feet and wrinkles around your mouth. They make us look much older than we feel. They typically are the result of years of sun exposure with little sun protection. Our skin becomes damaged and our collagen and elastin proteins become degraded. The skin cells look less healthy and vibrant. Some of us have had to resort to surgery in the past to lift up sagging skin.
Fortunately skin science has developed a wide variety of new technologies to restore skin’s youthful look, without having to go under the knife. The goal is to heal the skin’s damage and improve the appearance of wrinkles. New dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm can fill in unwanted lines, Botox, and laser treatments such as Fraxel and SmartSkin can improve the skin’s form. A dermatologist or skin care expert can help. Call today to schedule a consultation to learn more about the options for rejuvenating your skin.
